The Swift Current Broncos lost 3-2 in overtime in a Family Day matinee against the host Brandon Wheat Kings on Monday. Cole Reinhardt scored in the final minute of overtime to hand the Broncos their eighth straight loss.
Ian Briscoe opened the scoring for the Broncos 9:55 into the first period with his third goal of the season.
Jonny Hooker tied the game in the second period but Owen Blocker restored the lead for the Broncos 1:25 later.
Luka Burzan tied the game again 7:51 into the third period with a power play goal, his 34th of the season.
Isaac Poulter made 39 saves to fall to 2-15-1-0. Jiri Patera stopped 12 shots to improve to 19-13-2-2 for Brandon.
The Broncos fell to 10-40–3-2, while Brandon’s fourth straight win moved their record to 27-22-3-4.
The Broncos will be back at home on Friday to host the Moose Jaw Warriors.
