The Swift Current 15U AAA 57’s spilt the opening four games of the regular season over the weekend.
Saturday, the 57’s dropped the opening game 11-1 to the host South East Twins. Drew Johnson had the only two hits, while Finn Ostrander scored the only run.
They rebounded to win the second game 13-12. The 57’s trailed 7-1 after three innings, before a seven-run fourth inning.
Noah Enns earned the win with two scoreless innings.
Luke Mitchell hit a home run amongst his three hits as he walked, stole six bases, scored four runs, and had three runs batted in.
Zachary Dyke doubled twice, walked twice, stole four bases, scored once, and knocked home two runs.
Sunday, the 57’s opened the day with a 5-2 win over the Regina Wolfpack when two pitchers held the Wolfpack to five hits and three walks.
Ethan Poirier allowed two runs over five innings in the start. Jacoby Patzer earned the win when he struck out four over two scoreless innings.
Mitchell singled twice, stole a base, and scored one run. Dyke doubled, scored, and had two RBIs.
They dropped the win game of the weekend 11-1 when they were held to three hits. Ryden Getz doubled and walked in the loss. Ostrander stole and base and scored the only run.
The 15U AAA 57’s will visit the Moose Jaw Canucks.
