Southwest entries move up after strong Friday night at CCA Finals Rodeo

Bailee Humphrey from Eastend won the Ladies Barrel Racing event on Friday with a run of 12.56 seconds while posting her fastest run of the Finals.

The stage is now set for a thrilling final day of action at the 2019 CCA Finals Rodeo following an exciting Friday night performance at the Innovation Credit Union iPlex.

Brady Bertram had a clutch Friday night in the Bareback event by claiming top spot with a 78 point ride aboard Pay Day. The Maple Creek cowboy now sits first in the aggregate standings with 231 points over three successful rides, and he is tied for top spot in the events points standings with 70 points.

There is now a log jam of competitors in the running for barrel racing awards. In the points race Nicole Pena from Mortlach leads with 60 points, but there is a four way tie for second place with 40 points between Humphrey, Shayana Moen of Elrose, Valerie Gillespie from Duchess, AB, plus Moosomin’s Chloe Crossley.

In the aggregate race, Mallory Mayert from Waldeck sits first with an aggregate time of 38.51 seconds, just ahead of Dana Lovell of Cypress Country, AB at 38.70 seconds, and third place Humphrey in 38.84 seconds.
