A pair of Southwest cowboys won their respective events at the Riverbank Rodeo in Outlook on August 23-24.
Three veteran Southwest cowboys placed in the top-four of the Tie Down Roping field at the Canadian Cowboys Association rodeo. Mankota’s Shawn Williamson won the event in 9.0 seconds for $475. Swift Current’s Blaine Switzer placed third in 11.8 seconds for $237. Lucky Lake’s Tyler Getz followed in fourth in 12.3 seconds for $118.
Waldeck’s Tyce McLeod worked with Braidy Davies (Cypress County, AB) to win Team Roping in 4.8 seconds for $1,221. Williamson and Switzer combined to place fifth in 6.8 seconds for $379.
Three Southwest cowboys were also in the Steer Wrestling money in Outlook. Maple Creek’s Adam Gilchrist finished second in 7.8 seconds for $375. Kyle’s Harrison Hantelman was third in 8.5 seconds for $297. Chad Hantelman placed sixth in 16.1 seconds for $78.
A pair of Maple Creek cowboys finished in the pay window in Saddle Bronc. Mike Gordon rode Extra Special for 77 points to place second for a $415 payout. Adam Gilchrist tallied 71 points on Lucky Cab to place fourth for $138.
Maple Creek’s Brady Bertram also finished second in Bareback when he rode Half Crow for 76 points and a $420 payout.
Maple Creek’s William Perrin was second in Novice Saddle Bronc with 65 points for $131.
Maple Creek’s James Perrin finished in a four-way tie for third in Junior Steer Riding with 71 points for $37.
Cadillac’s Brooke Lang finished in fifth spot in Ladies Barrel Racing in 13.61 seconds for $189.
The only CCA rodeo this weekend will be in Ashern on Saturday and Sunday.
