The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires are unbeaten after two games at the Mac’s AAA Midget World Invitational Tournament following a blowout win on Thursday.
The Legionnaires had tied their tournament opener on Wednesday. They followed up on Thursday morning with a 10-1 win over the Brampton 45’s.
The Legionnaires scored 10 goals on 31 shots and finished six-for-nine on the power play.
Reed Jacobson notched a hat trick, Mason Strutt registered two goals and one assist, and Hendrik de Klerk added a goal and two assists.
Kersey Reich, Hunter Larocque, and Christian Albertson all added a goal and an assist. Joe Arntsen, Lucas Ochitwa, Riley Dekowny, and Jaxon Martens added two assists apiece. Rhett Evjen also scored, while Kalan Lind, Boston Bird, and Blake Rasmusson all added single helpers.
Jacob Herman earned the win with 15 saves on 16 shots.
The Legionnaires will play the third of four round robin games on Friday evening against the Calgary Flames. The Flames are last in the Alberta AAA Midget Hockey League’s Chrysler Division with an 8-12-2 record.
