RCMP Underwater Recovery Team discovers body in Swift Current Creek

A red 2014 Dodge truck was located in the Swift Current Creek along 6th Ave. N.E. on November 16.

The RCMP F Division Underwater Recovery Team has located the body of 26-year-old Colton Koop three weeks after the truck he was driving crashed through a guardrail and into the Swift Current Creek.

RCMP report the body was discovered at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at a location upstream from the location where the truck entered the creek.

An investigation is continuing into the incident.

The Swift Current Municipal RCMP had held a press conference on Friday asking the public’s assistance in a missing persons case, as Koop had not been heard from in the days following the collision and they were concerned for his well being.

The Underwater Recovery Team had been on site on Thursday and Friday before locating the body on Saturday morning.
