Swift Current RCMP seize $66,000 in drugs after executing warrant

A total of $66,000 of drugs was seized when Swift Current RCMP executed a drug warrant on Thursday.

RCMP reported they executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1500 block of Winnie St. E. at approximately 6 p.m. on November 15, with the Swift Current Municipal General Investigation Section, Swift Current Municipal Detachment, Swift Current Police Dog Section and Swift Current Forensic Identification Services all involved in the execution of the search warrant.

RCMP seized methamphetamine, cocaine and amphetamines with a total street value of $66,000, along with cash and weapons.

RCMP have charged 29-year-old Samantha Kallechy of Swift Current with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, one count of possession of cocaine under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, one count of possession of prohibited weapons, one count of possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose, plus one count of possession of property obtained by crime under the Criminal Code. Kallechy made her first appearance in Swift Current Provincial Court earlier today.

A second female will also be charged with possession of cocaine along with possession of methamphetamine under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
