The Swift Current Abbey Resources opened the Saskatchewan Midget AA Hockey League regular season with a pair of road wins over the Yorkton Terriers.
Saturday, the Broncos netted three goals in the third period on their way to a 4-2 win.
Rookie defenseman Ryan McCleary led the way with a goal and an assist, while Nathan McInnis added two helpers.
Jackson Sitter, Levi Lamotte, and Cash Arntsen also scored. Beau Larson, Riley Skarbon, and Ryland Hornung added assists as Justin Dueck picked up the win in goal.
Sunday, the Broncos scored the opening four goals in a 4-1 win, led by two goals and two assists from Larson. Sitter and Brock Oberle each added a goal and an assist and Brad Nyen earned the win in goal as the Broncos outshot Yorkton 34-26.
The AA Midget Broncos will host their home opener on Saturday at 7:45 p.m. at Fairview West Arena against the Weyburn Wings.They will rematch Sunday at 12:45 p.m.
