April 6 certainly did not feel like a spring day in Saskatchewan, with record low morning temperatures hovering near -30 Celsius in parts of the province.
Environment Canada reports that 14 Saskatchewan locations recorded new record-lows for April 6, with a number of century old records eclipsed.
In the Southwest a pair of record cold temperatures were officially recorded. Swift Current reached a new April 6 record of -23.8 celsius, breaking the old mark of -18.9 set in 1923 and standing as the coldest April 6 on records dating back to 1885. The Leader area dropped to -19.7 Celsius this morning, eclipsing the previous mark of -17.8 set in 1936.
