Severe thunderstorm watches issued across the Southwest

With temperatures in the 30 degree plus Celsius range, Environment Canada has issued a series of severe thunderstorm watches across the Southwest.

A disturbance approaching from Western Montana is forecast to move into Saskatchewan later this afternoon, bringing with it the development of thunderstorms.
Conditions will become favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong winds and large hail.
As of their 2:44 watches, the following forecast regions are advised to look for the potential of thunderstorms which may become severe:
Swift Current – Herbert – Cabri – Kyle – Lucky Lake
Shaunavon – Maple Creek – Val Marie – Cypress Hills
Leader – Gull Lake
Assiniboia – Gravelbourg – Coronach
Moose Jaw – Pense – Central Butte – Craik
