The Swift Current Diamond Energy Wildcats will host their annual Preseason Tournament this weekend with four Female Midget AAA teams joined by two provincial teams in attendance.
The weekend will be highlighted by an exhibition game between the University of Saskatchewan Huskies and the Mount Royal University Cougars on Saturday at 3:45 p.m. The Cougars feature former Wildcat Kate Scidmore (Moose Jaw), while the Huskies feature Brooklyn Haubrich (Hodgeville) and Kayla Kirwan (Gull Lake).
The Wildcats will open their tournament on Friday at 6 p.m. against the Pembina Valley Hawks.
Saturday, the Wildcats will take on Team Manitoba U16 at 6 p.m.
Sunday, the Wildcats will battle the Pilot Mound Buffaloes at 1:30 p.m.
Wildcats head coach Terry Pavely is also the head coach of U16 Team Saskatchewan, which features Wildcats defenseman Shelby Rublee (Kindersley), as well as potential Wildcats Caitlyn Perlinger (Kindersley) and Sadie Keller (Gull Lake).
