Team Saskatchewan, featuring three members of the Swift Current Diamond Energy Wildcats, rebounded from a tournament opening loss with a decisive victory at the Canada Winter Games on Monday.
Saskatchewan defeated New Brunswick 7-1 to move to 1-1 in Red Deer.
Saskatchewan is coached by Swift Current’s Terry Pavely and features forwards Taylor Lind (Shaunavon) and Carissa Hogan (Rosetown). They had lost their opening game 3-0 to Manitoba on Sunday.
Lind picked up an assist on the eventual game-winning goal, the first of three goals from Saskatoon’s Kaitlin Jockims.
Saskatchewan will conclude the round robin on Tuesday against Quebec.
