Three Southwest cowboys won events at a pair of Canadian Cowboys Association roughstock events over the August 21-22 weekend.
Eastend’s Austin Arnal won Bull Riding at the Arcola Roughstock Rodeo on August 21
with 80 points on Red Alert for a $1,417 payday.
Swift Current’s Dawson Danberg won Junior Steer Riding with 75.5 points for $549. Maple Creek’s Coy Cronkhite was third with 58 points for $274.
The CCA was also in Wapella for a roughstock event on August 22
Maple Creek’s Luke Moorehead won Novice Bull Riding with a 77-point ride for $360. Maple Creek’s Cecil Baynton was right behind him in second with 76.5 points for $270. Swift Current’s Tucker Danberg was fourth with 71.5 points for $90.
Maple Creek’s Shay Drever placed second in Junior Steer Riding with 71 points for $162. Dawson Danberg placed fourth with 65 points for $54. Gunner Armstrong (Shellbrook) won the event with a 74.5-point ride.
The CCA is in Maple Creek for the Cypress Showdown on August 29-30.
