The Swift Current 13U 57’s won gold at AAA Tier 2 Provincials in Regina over the weekend.
The 57’s finished with a 3-1 record in the round robin. They defeated the Estevan Brewers 14-8 and the Saskatoon Cannons 11-7 on Friday. Saturday, the 57’s defeated the Saskatoon Sturgeon 15-7 and then lost 7-5 to the Saskatoon Dust Devils.
Sunday, the 57’s moved past the Regina Athletics with a 17-1 win in the semi-final.
They won the championship game 19-14 over the White Sox. Kolton Kozun finished the game with a grand slam, a walk, a stolen base, two runs scored and five runs batted in.
Leadoff man Avery Christianson had four hits, including three doubles, three runs scored and three RBI’s. Jayce Kantrud had one hit, two walks, and and RBI’s. Mason Poirier added a single, a walk, three runs scored, and three RBI’s.
