The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour was at Moon Lake Golf and Country Club in Saskatoon on July 27-28.
Swift Current’s Jace Munro was the top Southwest finisher in Saskatoon when he placed second out of 24 Bantam Boys. He opened the event with a one-under 71 and added a 75 in the second round. Swift Current’s Zac Weinbender was 15th with rounds of 83 and 94. Keaton Kreklewich won the division by nine shots with a 68 and a 69.
Swift Current’s Matty Schmiess finished fourth in the Juvenile Boys Division. He opened with a one-under 71 and then closed the event with a 74 in round two. Ayden Melsted (Wynyard) won the division by six shots with rounds of 63 and 68. Kyle’s Jace Wills was 13th with rounds of 76 and 81.
Swift Current’s Ayden Ross was fifth out of 24 golfers in the Junior Boys Division. He opened with a 76 and then carded a 73 in round two. Oliver Matyczuk (Saskatoon) won the division by three strokes with rounds of 70 and 72. Swift Current’s Nate Silbernagel placed 21st with rounds of 75 and 91.
Swift Current’s Hailey Bollinger finished sixth in the 15-19 Girls Division with rounds of 92 and 90. Tayla Perry (Regina) won the division by 18 strokes with rounds of 78 and 73.
The MJT will be back in Saskatchewan on August 15-16 at Elk Ridge Resort in Waskesiu.
A MJT Mini Tour event was also held on July 26 at Moon Lake. Wymark’s James Neufeld finished third in the Boys 8U Division with a 107.
Swift Current’s Brynn Bollinger placed fourth in the Girls 9-10 Division with a score of 123.
Swift Current’s Soren Richards carded a 106 to place ninth in the Boys 9-10 Division.
