It was a record breaking weekend for Swift Current 57’s slugger Jake Hiromoto as he etched his name into the Western Canadian Baseball League record books.
The Honolulu product set a new record when he hit his 21st home run on Sunday to break the record for most home runs in a single season. He also set the record with 68 runs batted in in a single season.
Coming off his freshman season with the University of San Francisco Athletics, the Honolulu native was also batting .396 with a 1.262 OPS in 47 games during his first season in Swift Current.
The 57’s will return to action on Tuesday when they host the Miller Express again at Mitchell Field.
