A pair of Swift Current Rampage teams came home from playoffs with South Sask Lacrosse League championship banners.
The Swift Current U15 Rampage beat Regina Chaos Green 12-9, Regina Chaos Blue 5-4 in overtime on a goal by Lucas Dawe, defeated the Weyburn Dairy Queen Thrashers 8-6, and beat the Weyburn Young Fellows Thrashers 8-7 in the championship game.
Swift Current led Weyburn 4-1 in the championship game. Weyburn then pulled ahead 7-5, before the Rampage answered with three unanswered goals to win. Liam Penner scored with 1:22 left in the third period to complete his hat trick and win the game for Swift Current.
The Rampage came intro playoffs sitting fourth in the U15 league with a 9-5 record.
Lucas Dawe scored 14 times in four playoff games for Swift Current.
The Swift Current U13 Rampage went 3-0 in the double elimination playoffs to claim the South Sask Lacrosse League championship. They beat Weyburn 5-4, Moose Jaw 8-3 in the semi-final, and defeated Moose Jaw again 5-2 in the gold medal game.
Lincoln Dyke and Jase Neuman each scored six times over the playoffs.
The Rampage were 8-2 in the regular season before their successful playoff run.
The Swift Current U17 Rampage won a silver medal in their South Sask Lacrosse League playoffs.
They beat the Regina Chaos Blue 12-9, and Weyburn 9-6. They lost 17-4 to Moose Jaw, beat Regina Chaos Blue 14-3, and then fell 4-1 to Moose Jaw in the gold medal game.
Mazin Zanidean scored 11 goals and Dusty Paul had nine goals for Swift Current in their playoff run.
Two Swift Current teams competed in the U11 playoffs. The Rampage Bruiser beat Estevan 8-3, lost 21-0 to Regina Chaos Green, and lost 9-5 to the Rampage Rowdy.
The Rampage Rowdy lost 11-5 to Regina Chaos Blue, beat the Bruiser, and they then lost 6-2 to Weyburn.
Some of the Rampage teams will continue their seasons at provincials in Estevan.
