The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires swept the host Yorkton Maulers to open the Saskatchewan Male AAA Hockey League regular season.
Friday, Kade Baert, Kasey Gleim, and Kyler Bilokreli all scored in a 3-1 win. Ryden Johnson, Carter Schmidt, Ryder Leshures, and Jaxson Squires all added assists. Cade Mitchell earned the win with 21 saves.
The Legionnaires followed up with a 2-1 win on Saturday. Liam VanCaeseele led the Legionnaires with a goal and an assist, while Baert notched the game-winner in the second period. Johnson, Kohen Ruedig, and Hunter Wilm all picked up assists. Josh Benjamin made 35 saves on 36 shots.
The Legionnaires will host the Moose Jaw Warriors on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the InnovationPlex.
