Swift Current’s Dani Jackson helped the Saskatchewan 17U Girls to a 5-1 record at Basketball Canada’s Youth National Championships in Sherbrooke, QC from Aug. 2-8.
Saskatchewan defeated Newfoundland & Labrador 85-62 to open the tournament. Jackson finished with 10 points in the win, including two-for-three shooting from beyond the three-point line.
Saskatchewan followed up with a 77-41 win over Prince Edward Island when Jackson chipped in five points and four rebounds.
Saskatchewan dropped the quarter-final 76-54 to Nova Scotia. Jackson registered four points and three rebounds in the loss.
Saskatchewan defeated Newfoundland & Labrador again 68-56 to open the consolation round. Jackson had three points and two assists in the win.
Jackson had her best offensive outing in an 85-57 win over their prairie rivals from Manitoba. She hit all three of her three-point attempts and finished with 12 points.
Saskatchewan clinched fifth place with a 55-50 victory over Quebec when Jackson contributed two points, one rebound, and one steal.
