Swift Current Lacrosse is celebrating a strong May long weekend for local athletes competing at tournaments and showcase events across Western Canada.

Five southwest Saskatchewan players helped the U17 South Sask Stealth capture a gold medal at the Curtis Dale Ptolemy Memorial Tournament over the weekend.

Jasper Baan, Jax Brown, Nixon Friesen, Jett Wallace, and Caylum Greenley were all members of the championship-winning Stealth roster. The team continued an impressive stretch after also winning a tournament the previous weekend in Cranbrook, B.C.

At the U13 level, three local players helped the South Sask Stealth earn a bronze medal at the Silver Stick Tournament.

Lee Brown, Jakeb LeBruno, and Barrett Moreside suited up for the Stealth, who defeated the SWAT 6-4 in the bronze medal game to finish third overall.

Meanwhile, six southwest Saskatchewan athletes were part of a milestone weekend for the Flatland Coyotes girls lacrosse program.

Halyn Kendall, Gigi Kelly, Everlee Warnke, Audrey Mullin, Levi Cyrenne, and Brexley Polowy all suited up for various Coyotes teams as the program hosted its first-ever home games against the Manitoba Frost over the long weekend.

Swift Current Lacrosse congratulates all local athletes, coaches, and families on a successful weekend representing southwest Saskatchewan on the provincial lacrosse stage.
