The Steve Laycock rink, curling out of Swift Current, remain unbeaten at the 2025 SaskTel Tankard Mens Championship in Kindersley.  Featuring Swift Current’s Chris Haichert and Cabri’s Shaun Meachem, the Laycock foursome opened day two with a 9-5 win over Langenberg’s Charley Thomas. They added a 9-6 win over Saskatoon’s Jason Jacobson.

The Swift Current Comp. Senior Colts were in Moose Jaw Basketball League action on Tuesday when they dropped a 90-72 loss to the Central Cyclones.  Duncan Gevana led the Colts with 19 points, followed by 17 Griffin Striker. 

The Southwest Sports Excellence 15UM Elite SunDogs won the Medicine Hat Exhibition Tournament with four wins and one loss over the weekend.  Competing against a mix of 15U and 16U Teams, the SunDogs opened the round robin with a win over 15U LVC White, but fell short against the 16U SEAVC team.

The Swift Current Comp. Junior Colts and Ardens Red basketball teams hosted their home tournaments over the weekend.  The Junior Colts finished with one win and two losses. They opened the tournament with an 81-58 win over the Moose Jaw AE Peacock Toilers. Kean Geronimo led the Colts with 17 points. 

The Swift Current Broncos responded from a blowout loss on Friday with their highest scoring game since 2012 on Saturday. Eight different Broncos scored in a 10-1 win over the visiting Portland Winterhawks. Rylan Gould and Luke Mistelbacher both registered two goals and one assist, while Clarke Caswell finished with four assists.

The Swift Current Broncos returned to the win column with a 6-3 victory over the visiting Edmonton Oil Kings on Wednesday.  The Broncos took control of the game with three goals in the second period.
