17U SunDogs win silver in debut

The Swift Current 17U Female Junior SunDogs placed second at the Cougars Tournament in Balgonie to open their season.

The SunDogs finished 5-1 in the round robin on Saturday. They defeated the Regina Summit Red in three sets (29-27, 18-25, 15-11) before losing to the 17U Cougars (14-25, 11-25). They finished off the day with wins over the Estevan Extreme (25-16, 25-21), the 16U Cougars (22-25, 25-13, 15-13), QCVC Black (25-18, 25-14), and the White Butte Hurricanes (25-14, 16-25, 15-6).

The 17U SunDogs, coached by Kim Sauder and Keri White, defeated the 16U Cougars (25-16, 25-13) in the semi-final before losing to the 17U Cougars (22-25, 20-25) in the championship match.

They will be in Warman next weekend for Sask Cup #1.
