Broncos continue struggles against Silvertips

The Swift Current Broncos dropped their fifth straight game in a 5-1 loss to the visiting Everett Silvertips on Friday.

The Silvertips are now 13-4-0-0 all-time against the Broncos and have nine wins in 10 regular season trips to Swift Current in franchise history.

The Silvertips put the game away early with three first-period goals, including goals from Bryce Kindopp and Cole Fonstad 18 seconds apart only 3:19 into regulation. Kindopp added a breakaway goal later in the frame, his 17th of the season.

Jake Christiansen added a power play goal early in the second period in his first game back in the WHL from the American Hockey League.

Jaxan Kaluski scored for the Broncos in the third period to cut the deficit to three goals, but Conrad Mitchell quickly responded with a breakaway goal.

Isaac Poulter stopped 29 of 34 shots to fall to 6-11-1-1. Keegan Karki made 25 saves to improve to 5-0-1-0.

The Broncos fell to 6-18-1-2, while Everett improved to 19-6-1-0.

The Broncos are right back at home on Saturday when they host the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
