Former Swift Current Broncos forward Beck Malenstyn made his National Hockey League debut on Wednesday.

Malenstyn finished with three shots on goal and one hit for the Washington Capitals during a 4-1 loss to the New York Rangers.

Malenstyn, a 6’2’’, 194-pound product of White Rock, BC, was drafted by the Capitals 145th overall in 2016. He registered 16 points and 66 penalty minutes in 74 American Hockey League games last season with the Hershey Bears.

Malenstyn was a mid-season acquisition of the Broncos during their league championship run in 2017-18.
