Broncos win second straight game

The Swift Current Broncos put together their first winning streak of the season with a 2-1 victory over the host Regina Pats on Tuesday.

Isaac Poulter made 48 saves to lift the Broncos to their fifth win of the season.

Newly acquired import Sergei Alkhimov scored the game winner against his former team midway through the third period during a two-point outing. Ethan Regnier had opened the scoring in the first period during his own two-point game.

Zack Smith replied for the Pats in the second period to tie the game. Max Paddock took the loss with 26 saves on 28 shots.

The Broncos improved to 5-11-1-2, while Regina fell to 3-13-2-0.

The Broncos will host the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Wednesday.
