The exodus out of Swift Current continued on Wednesday when the Broncos traded forward Carter Chorney to the Regina Pats.

The Broncos received 2002-born defenseman Sam McGinley in return. The 6’2’’ Calgary native was drafted 92nd overall in 2017 and has one assist in 11 WHL games.

Chorney has five points, 13 penalty minutes and a -10 rating in 17 games this season. The Sherwood Park, AB product finished with 19 points in 52 games with the Broncos after being acquired from the Spokane Chiefs last season.

The trade followed up on last week’s deals that sent forwards Joona Kiviniemi and Ben King to Vancouver and Red Deer respectively.

The new-look Broncos will be back at home on Saturday to host the Moose Jaw Warriors.
