The Swift Current Broncos filled their final overage spot ahead of Tuesday’s Western Hockey League trade deadline.
The Broncos acquired forward Ryley Lindgren from the Lethbridge Hurricanes and a sixth round pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft in exchange for 15-year-old prospect Carson Dyck and a third round pick in the 2018 draft.
Lindgren has 42 points in 42 games with the Hurricanes this season.
“Lindgren is a terrific player and makes our hockey club better,” said Broncos Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel Manny Viveiros in team issued release. “We’re thrilled to have Ryley join the Swift Current Broncos and be an impact player this season.”
The 5-11, 187 lb native of East St. Paul, MB was originally selected by the Brandon Wheat Kings in the fifth round, 96th overall, in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft and has tallied 136 points in 229 career games.
Lindgren is expected to be in the line-up when the Broncos host the Kootenay Ice on Wednesday.
