Prism and Lee Aaron will headline concert at Living Sky Casino

Prism will be performing at the Living Sky Casino with Lee Aaron on November 15.

Canadian rock icons Prism along with Lee Aaron will share the concert stage in Swift Current on November 15.

The 80s rock superstars will be showcased during a classic rock double bill at the Living Sky Casino on Friday, November 15.

Prism was among the most popular Canadian groups in the late 70s and early 80s with a string of chart topping hits such as “Spaceship Superstar”, “Take Me to the Kaptin”, “Flying”, “Armageddon”, “Take Me Away”, “Young & Restless”, “Night to Remember”, “Don’t Let Him Know”, and “Virginia” among others. Prism released eight studio albums between 1977 and 2008, along with three live albums, and many music lovers have one of their four compilation albums.

They collected their lone Juno Award in 1981 as Group of the Year, and both Young and Restless (1981) and Armageddon (1980) were nominated for Album of the Year. They were nominated as Most Promising Group of the Year in 1978 in a nomination field that included Max Webster, Jackson Hawke, Blacklight Orchestra and eventual winner Hometown Band.

Lee Aaron burst onto the music scene in 1984 with her release Metal Queen, and she was a mainstay on the rock music charts with material from Call of the Wild (1985), the self titled Lee Aaron (1987), Bodyrock (1989), Some Girls Do (1991), and Emotional Rain (1994).

She is now reemerging onto the scene with new material which breaks her out of the stereotype of a metal queen and into her intended message of empowerment and positive energy.

Lee Aaron earned 10 Juno nominations during her recording career, including five nominations in the Female Vocalist of the Year category (1985, 1987, 1990, 1991, 1992). Her album Bodyrock was nominated in 1992 in both the Album of the Year and Best Hard Rock/Metal Album categories, while the followup album Some Girls Do was nominated for Hard Rock Album of the Year in 1992.

Her newest album Power, Soul, Rock N’ Roll – Live in Germany, was released last Friday. It is a follow up to her April 2018 album of new material Diamond Baby Blues.
