Broncos training camp opens Sunday

The Swift Current Broncos recently released their schedule for the 2019 training camp which runs from Sunday, August 25 through Thursday, August 29. All on-ice sessions will be held at the Innovation Credit Union iPlex.

The on-ice portion of training camp begins Monday, August 26, and features practice and skill tests, as well as small area games between the four teams. The teams are: Sakic, Kennedy, Lowry and Smith.

Fans will see plenty of familiar faces on the ice, but also lots of new ones including Mathew Ward and Tyson Jugnauth, the Broncos two first-round picks in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft, who will be in attendance.

Tuesday, the teams will play two scrimmage games each with games scheduled for 9 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday will have four more scrimmages scheduled for 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Training camp will wrap up with the Broncos annual Blue vs White intra-squad game at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 29.

Training camp is open to the public and fans are invited to get their first look at the 2019-20 Swift Current Broncos.
