Swift Current’s Dylan Mortensen helped Canada’s men’s volleyball team to a second win at the 30th Summer Universiade in Italy on Thursday.
Canada defeated the Ukraine in straight sets (25-17, 25-13, 25-16) in the consolation quarter-final. Mortensen, a 6’7’’ outside hitter, finished the match with a team leading 12 kills, three kill blocks, and two service aces.
Canada will now face the Republic of Korea in the consolation semi-final on Friday.
Canada had finished with a 1-3 record in the round robin.
