Two facing drug charges after Swift Current RCMP raid downtown home

Two individuals are facing charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) after Swift Current Municipal RCMP, General Investigation Services members, and the Regina Police Dog Services executed a search warrant at a Swift Current home in the early morning hours of December 21.

Andrew Douglas Descoteaux faces a total of ten charges, including three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking (one count cocaine, one count methamphetamine, one count morphine), possession of cash proceeds, possession of break and enter instruments, possession of marijuana, and numerous breaches of probation.

Descoteaux, who is also facing unrelated charges in Alberta, appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court on Wednesday morning. He has been remanded into custody until his next appearance by video link on January 4, 2017.

An adult female, 27 years of age, was also arrested during the execution of the CDSA search warrant at the residence at 536 Central Avenue North in Swift Current. She appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court to answer to one count of possession of cocaine and was released on a series of conditions. Due to a publication ban, she cannot be identified.

Swift Current Municipal RCMP estimates the street value of the drugs seized during the bust is in excess of $100,000.

Police are trying to locate Jordan Philippe Marleau, 32, of Swift Current. Marleau is being sought on a warrant to face a number of charges under the CDSA.

A no-contact order has imposed on Descoteaux, the unnamed female who faces charges, and Marleau. Each is prohibited from contacting one another.

Anyone with information on Jordan Marleau’s whereabouts is asked to contact Swift Current Municipal RCMP at 306 778 4870 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
