Colts win once at home

The Swift Current Comp. Colts senior boy’s basketball team ran into some tough competition during a four-team home tournament over the weekend when they won one of three games.

The Colts outscored Regina’s Sheldon Williams Spartans 26-19 in the fourth quarter for a 92-82 win on Friday. Austin Beverly-Collins led the Colts with 17 points, followed by 16 from Scott Joseph and 15 from Carlos Dungca.

The Colts fell behind the Lloydminster Barons early and never recovered in a 95-79 loss on Saturday morning.

Aussie Wiebe led the Colts with 17 points, followed by 15 from Jesse Patzer and 12 from Joseph.

The Colts lost their final game 81-66 to the Yorkton Raiders. The game was tied 57-57 after three quarters before the Raiders outscored the Colts 24-9 in the final frame. Joseph led the Colts with 14 points, followed by 13 from Wiebe and seven from Medina.

The Colts will return to tournament action on March 1-2 in North Battleford. They will begin the provincial playoffs at 5A SHSAA Regionals in Yorkton on March 15-16.
