The Swift Current Diamond Energy Wildcats won their eighth straight game on Sunday to pass the Prince Albert Bears for third spot in the Saskatchewan Female Midget Hockey League.
The Wildcats scored three power play goals and one shorthanded goal to defeat the host Weyburn Wings 9-1 to complete a two-game sweep on the road.
Taylor Lind led the Wildcats with two goals and two assists. Carissa Hogan added two goals and one assist and Tobi Fontaine also scored twice. Sara Kendall added a goal and two assists, Baylee Kirwan registered a goal and an assist, while Layne Hryhoriw scored a shorthanded goal.
Maddy McCleary added a pair of assists, while Crystal Wale and Kate Wagner added single helpers.
Harper Davey made 13 saves to earn the win while improving to 4-3.
Payton Mabee scored the lone goal for the Wings, who fell to 1-21-0-1.
The Wildcats improved to 13-9-1-1, one point ahead of Prince Albert with four games remaining in the regular season.
Lind now leads the league with 23 goals and 30 assists in 24 games. Kendall moved into 10th in league scoring with 26 points. Hogan is tied for 13th with 24 points.
