Colts rebound from first loss

The Swift Current Colts suffered their first Saskatchewan Female Bantam A Hockey League loss on Friday, but rebounded with a convincing win on Sunday.

Friday, the Colts lost 4-2 to the visiting Melville Fire. Ava Geissler scored both goals in a losing cause with assists from Sadie Keller and Jenna Lacher.

Sunday, the Colts responded in convincing fashion with an 8-2 victory over the visiting Wood River Ice Cats. Keller registered a goal and two assists, while Olivia Kirwan added three assists.

Brogan Carlson and Paisley Arntsen each scored twice. Mya Brown and Geissler each tallied a goal and an assist. Marie Tsougrianis also scored, while Mya Girard added an assist.

The Colts finished the weekend in second spot in the 12-team South Division with an 8-1-1 record.

The Colts will host four games in December, beginning on Saturday when they face the Balcarres Barracudas at 8 p.m. at Fairview East Arena. They also host the Moose Jaw Mavericks on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Innovation Credit Union iplex.
