The Swift Current Comp. Colts compiled over 500 yards of total offense as they improved to 4-1 in the Moose Jaw High School Football League with a 51-15 win over the host Estevan Elecs on Saturday.
One week after suffering their first loss of the season, the Colts ran the ball for 288 yards and passed for 213 yards while holding the Elecs to 208 yards of offense. The Colts led 30-15 at halftime before shutting out the hosts in the second half.
Receiver Rhett Vavra led the Colts with 132 yards on seven receptions. He found the endzone for touchdowns of 18, 23, and 30 yards in the win.
Shane Friesen ran the ball in the house twice as he finished with 134 yards rushing on eight carries. Jordan Lamontagne carried the ball 13 times for 160 yards.
Austin Wiebe and Carter Moberg also scored touchdowns for the Colts. Moberg finished the game 12-for-19 through the air for 223 yards.
The Colts’s defense recovered one fumble and Lain Cadrain made one interception, which he returned 21 yards.
The Colts will be back at home on Thursday to host the league champion Yorkton Regional Raiders at 4 p.m. to conclude the regular season.
