The Swift Current Broncos made a trade Thursday to clear up their overage situation. The Broncos dealt forward Kaden Elder to the Calgary Hitmen for a third round pick in the 2019 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

The Saskatoon native was a valuable contributor to the 2018 WHL Championship team with nine points in 26 playoff games. The former first-round pick of the Seattle Thunderbirds has 69 points in 250 WHL games.

The moves comes one day after the Broncos claimed overage defenseman Matt Stanley off waivers and reacquired forward Owen Blocker from the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

The Broncos still have five overage players on their roster.
