Swift Current’s Brody Alexandre will have the opportunity to showcase his baseball talent on the biggest stage in Canada when he suits up at Tournament 12 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto this week.
Alexandre will compete for Team Prairies from September 13-17 at the showcase, which includes the best 160 amateur players in Canada.
Baseball Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar is the tournament commissioner of the eight-team event, which aims to showcase the country’s top amateur players in front of college and professional scouts.
Alexandre has already represented Saskatchewan at the U17 and U15 National Championships this summer, including winning silver at the 15U Ray Carter Cup in Oshawa, ON.
He finished fourth in the Saskatchewan Premier Midget AAA Baseball League with 31 runs batted in and fifth with a .413 average in 26 games with the Swift Current 57’s.
Team Prairies will open the tournament against Team Atlantic on Thursday afternoon.
