Swift Current 57’s Bo McClintock and Blake Adams were both named to the Western Major Baseball League 2nd All-Star Team on Wednesday.
McClintock was named the 2nd Team First Baseman after finishing second in the WMBL with 15 home runs and tied for fifth with 40 runs batted in. The Beavercreek, Oregon native also finished with a .288 average and 35 runs scored in 41 games played.
Adams was late returnee to the 57’s, but hit .287 with 37 runs scored in 30 games. The Longview, Texas product was hit by a league leading 16 pitches, the second most in franchise history. He also stole 13 bases on his way to an outfield spot on the 2nd All-Star Team.
The 57’s currently trail the Regina Red Sox in the opening round of the playoffs. Game two will be tonight at 7:05 p.m. at Mitchell Field.
