Broncos to face Pats in pre-season opener

The Swift Current Broncos will face a very familiar opponent when they hit the ice for the first time in the 2018-19 Western Hockey League pre-season.

The Broncos will face the host Regina Pats at their annual preseason tournament in Regina on August 31st. The Broncos eliminated the Pats from the WHL playoffs this past season, while the Pats eliminated the Broncos from the 2018 Memorial Cup in Regina.

The Broncos will also face the Saskatoon Blades on September 1 in Regina.

The Broncos will also face the Lethbridge Hurricanes twice to conclude the four-game exhibition schedule. They will meet on September 14 in Lethbridge and September 15 in Swift Current. The two teams met for the first time in the WHL playoffs this past season with the Broncos taking the Eastern Conference Championship in six games.

The WHL regular season schedule is expected to be released later this month.
