There was a single local curler in the 2018 Ramada Hotel U18 Provincial Curling Championship in Swift Current on March 22-25. The event featured eight women’s, eight men’s, and six open recreational teams.
Swift Current’s Theo Lautsch was a member of the Behm rink, which curled out of Moose Jaw and finished with a 2-3 record.
The team was comprised of Brett Behm, Dom Neufeld, Cordell Struble, Lautsch, and coach Dale Neufeld.
The Behm rink opened the tournament with a 9-3 win over Prince Albert’s Bryden Tessier on Thursday.
Friday, they were knocked from the A Event with a 6-5 loss to Wadena’s Jayden Bindig. They rebounded that evening with an 8-5 win over Regina’s Logan Ede. They took on Bindig again in the B Event final but lost 7-2.
The Behm rink was eliminated on Saturday in a 10-1 loss to Saskatoon’s Devan Doucette.
