Tyler Steenbergen and Team Canada will play for gold at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championships in Buffalo after a dominating semi-final win Thursday.

Canada fell behind early but stormed back to defeat the Czech Republic 7-2 to earn a spot in the gold medal game for a second straight year. Steenbergen played 6:32 in front of 6,941 spectators at the Key Bank Arena.

Canada will now face Sweden in the championship game on Friday evening.

Steenbergen is attempting to become the first member of the Swift Current Broncos to win gold at the World Junior Championships since Dillon Heatherington won with Canada in Toronto in 2015.
