The medal hopes for all three members of the Swift Current Broncos remain alive after the round robin portion of the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championships in Buffalo.

Tyler Steenbergen and Canada will face fourth-place Switzerland in the quarter-finals Tuesday afternoon. Canada won Group A with three wins and a shootout loss. Steenbergen has been held pointless so far, but has three shots on goal and a plus-two rating in four games.

Aleksi Heponiemi and Finland finished third in Group A with two wins and two losses. Heponiemi scored twice for his country, including a game-winning goal, with four shots on goal and a minus-three rating.
Finland will face the Czech Republic in the quarter-final on Tuesday morning.

Defenseman Artyom Minulin and Russia placed third in Group B with two wins, a regulation loss, and a 4-3 shootout loss to Sweden on New Years Eve. Minulin finished the round robin with a plus-one rating and six shots on goal.

Russia will take on the host United States in the quarter-final on Tuesday evening.
