Swift Current Broncos forward Tyler Steenbergen scored twice in Canada’s final exhibition contest leading into the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championships.

Canada fired 61 shots on goal in a 9-1 drubbing of Switzerland in Hamilton Friday evening. The Broncos sniper scored the second goal in the first period when he batted a bouncing puck in the crease into the net. Steenbergen added a third-period marker when he one-timed a centering feed from in tight for an 8-1 Canada lead.

Steenbergen and Team Canada will open the tournament on Boxing Day when they face Finland, who feature his Bronco linemate, Aleksi Heponiemi.
