Steenbergen and Lind named to Team WHL

Swift Current Broncos fans will have an opportunity to see Tyler Steenbergen skate alongside the top players in the Western Hockey League next month.

Steenbergen was named one of 12 forwards for Team WHL for the 2017 CIBC Canada Russia Series. Game one of the six-game series will be played November 6 in Moose Jaw, followed by game two in Swift Current on November 7.

Steenbergen currently leads the WHL with 16 goals and 25 points in nine games this season. He was selected in the fifth round of the 2017 NHL Draft by the Arizona Coyotes.

Shaunavon’s Kole Lind will also have an extra opportunity to play in front of friends and family after the Kelowna Rockets forward was also named to Team WHL. He is tied for eighth in WHL scoring with 17 points in nine games. Lind was a second round pick of the Vancouver Giants in the 2017 NHL Draft.
