SWAC athletes advance to cross-country provincials

The SWAC district country championships were held in Grasslands National Park and hosted by Val Marie School on Sept 30. Grasslands National Park was the host of the SWAC District cross-country championships on Sept. 30. What a spectacular day – the weather was outstanding and the scenery was beautiful.

We had 126 runners taking part in grades 4-12. A huge thank you to the Park staff as well as Val Marie School for hosting – fantastic job! Special thanks to our commissioners for the event Anne Beauchamp and Jamee Coupe. The following are the top finishers in each event:

Pee Wee Girls (grades 4,5,6) 2 km run. 45 participants:

1st – Sarah Beierbach (Consul)

We have eight students who are going to run at SHSAA provincial cross country in Turtleford on October 14. Good luck to runners from Swift Current Comp. – Jenna Sabine, Rueben Kuzma, Austin Coward, Dylan Pierce, Kennedy Choo Foo, Taylor Dickie and Danika Messer – as well as the runner from Hodgeville Chayne Krauchek! They will be accompanied by coaches Roberta McIntyre and Adam Jackson.

It was week three of the senior girls’ volleyball league on Sept. 26. Scores were:
