The good news kept coming last week for the Western Major Baseball League champion Swift Current 57’s as pitcher Bobby St. Pierre signed with the Ottawa Champions of the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball.
The Champions were fifth out of eight teams with a 39-52 record coming out of the weekend. The Windsor, ON native made his debut on Sunday during a 7-5 win over the Sussex County Miners. He pitched three innings in relief, allowing three hits, three walks, but only one run.
St. Pierre finished the WMBL regular season with a 5-4 record and a 2.75 earned run average. The team won three of the four games he started in the post-season as St. Pierre won his second WMBL title in as many seasons in Swift Current.
