The host Swift Current 57’s made a playoff appearance at the Mosquito AA Tier I Provincial Championships over the weekend.
Friday, the 57’s lost a defensive battle 3-1 to the Lumsden Cubs to open the tournament.
They rebounded with an 11-5 win over the Lloydminster Twins to place second in their pool.
Saturday, the 57’s took on the Battlefords Beavers and won 16-2 in a mercy rule shortened game to open the playoffs.
They faced Weyburn in Sunday’s semi-final and just took too long to get their bats going in an 11-10 loss. They scored six runs in the final inning against the eventual provincial champions.
