Swift Current’s Kalea Sauder will represent her province at the Tri Province Meet in Winnipeg, Manitoba from July13-16. The grade 10 student was one of 49 athletes named by Saskatchewan Athletics to attend the meet.
Sauder was a double medalist at the 2017 SHSAA Track and Field Provincial Championships in June. She won silver in the Junior Girls 100 Metre Dash in 12.83 seconds and placed third in Long Jump with a 5.07 metre top jump.
The Swift Current Comp. Ardens standout just missed a third medal in the 80 Metre Hurdles when she placed fourth in 12.56 seconds. She also placed sixth in High Jump at Provincials after clearing the bar at 1.50 metres.
Sauder also finished second in the Junior Girls aggregate standings with 54 points, behind Lumsden’s Kaitlyn Harrison.
