Midget 57’s fall to visiting White Sox

The Swift Current 57’s two-game Saskatchewan Premier Midget AAA Baseball League winning streak came to an end Wednesday in a 10-3 loss to the visiting Regina White Sox.

The 57’s were outhit 11-3 as the White Sox got seven hits from their top two hitters in the order and seven runs batted in from their top four hitters.

The 57’s scored their first run in the third inning when Nathan McInnis walked, advanced to third on an error, and then scored on an Ayden Annala sacrifice fly.

They added a second run in the following inning when Quinn Patenaude singled, advanced to third on an error, and scored on an Ethan Warketin single.

They scored their final run in the sixth inning when Brock Wall singled and eventually scored on a passed ball.

Zane Pollon got the win with 5.1 innings of three-hit ball, allowing two walks and three runs, only two that were earned, while striking out six.

Swift Current dropped to 4-15-1, while the White Sox improved to 13-7.

The 57’s will host a double header against the Regina Athletics on Saturday at 1 p.m.
