Mosquito 57’s prepare to host home tournament

The Swift Current 57’s won once in four Regina AAA Mosquito Baseball League games over the weekend.

57’sThey won their opener 9-8 on Saturday when Ty Switzer scored on a passed ball to defeat the visiting Weyburn Beavers. Weyburn turned the tables in the second game to hand the 57’s a 19-10 loss.

The 57’s travelled to White Butte on Sunday where they suffered 20-13 and 13-9 losses.

The 57’s will host a six-team tournament this weekend. They open the tournament on Friday at 6:45 p.m. against the Saskatoon Blue Jays. They will also play the Saskfive Giant Bombs on Saturday at 10 a.m. and the Unity Cardinals at 3 p.m.

The championship game is slated for Sunday at 2 p.m.
